I am thinking of getting another clown tang but I have heard that they are difficult to keep anybody. tried this lovely fish tried one but it did not make it overnight I think it was too small as it wass only about 1inch long what size is recommended for any chance of success.

They live in VERY high flow normally, which is hard to replicate without blowing sand and coral all over. They tend to get aggressive too. Not really a good fish for an aquarium to be honest. Stunning though, so loads get sold, and unfortunately loads then die.

Good man. It's the same with quite a few species, just not suited, and have very poor success rates. There's always someone who has managed, but far more that just kill whatever it is.

I tried a clown tang.

Failed. It was a quarter the size of my desjardini sailfin tang but instantly the boss. Everything else gave it a wide birth like it’s got death written all over it. It never asserted its authority, it was somehow known.

And yeah, as said, I had very high flow but these live in the shallows swimming through water that’s getting smashed against corals, my flow was nothing to it, and it slowly wasted away. It was eating, just not getting the exercise it needed to maintain its muscle mass.
