There's a fine line between success and failure like there's a difference between surviving and thriving and we are all striving for a thriving success.

I didn't know that you could have a moorish in a reef tank?

VERY few people are successful with them.  I tried one.  It fed after a few days, and ate everything I offered it.  Then it keeled over and died after a few weeks (no signs of anything wrong with it).  After a few days, I had a full blown whitespot outbreak (the first time I'd had it).

I wouldn't bother.  Get a bannerfish instead.

Yeah, It's always been a fish I've longed for but never had one. I've tried some known difficult fish, like mandarinfish, copperbanded butterflyfish, etc but never gone near Moorish Idols as I just don't want to be excited about having one, only to then be gutted when it's not going well. I've had fish that it's like a full time job to get food into them, and I'm almost certain that'd be the case with a moorish, so I've never risked it.

I've always liked the moorish idols but not tried one yet I do have a pair of mandarins that are doing fine if I see a moorish I may be tempted
