Does look good doesn't it. Plating monti grows out causing shaded areas which gives a really dynamic look, but also grows over casting shadows on other corals. :(

that purple certainly looks awesome, I'll defo go fo some of that! but they do cast shadows which begs the question as to the best place to put it! or keep it trimmed! the superman and sunset are encrusting though, don't know if they would plate once they get to an edge :(

My order of corals just turned up, and one of them is an apple berry monti, which I thought was a plating monti, but I think it's actually an encrusting type! Doh! (may have to did out one of my easter island heads and get it to grow on that!
I might be back....

I think it looks good when place them on opposite sides so when they touch they grow around each other forming weird shapes :)

I've seen several SPS people suggest putting it low down so that all it casts a shadow over is the substrate, forming dark lagoons, but you'd have to have sufficient light and water clarity for enough light to get down that far I reckon.  :undecided:

No it just stops, or wraps around, like GSPs.

Crikey you don't waste any time! I'm still putting together a basket. There's a lot of Acropora available but I'm steering well clear of Acros until I know the other SPS I've got are sustainable.

I had these coral from coralfragsareus on ebay, after a 20 min phone call I was happy to place an order, I also got a fungia, they have a "dead" skeleton poping babies out all the time, best to talk to him about what he has in stock and price, as I got the fungia for half the price the auction actually ended at.
I might be back....
