Love pipe fish.  Remember them coming to eat the leftovers on plates our skipper dipped in the sand to soak and wash when we we on a snorkelling tour in the Cayman Islands.  Fantastic!

I have always loved to own a pipefish, my LFS has told me that I can't keep it in a reef tank! :(

Ive had them in a dedicated horsey tank Hai , and when I had a Cowfish disaster I had no option but to put a little red/yellow stripey guy  in the reef tank , is it has a bit weedly in there at the time he did well but i wouldnt reccomend it because of the feeding needed and the flow
As you can see they little guy is carrying eggs .

I've been told that also, only reason went for the blue banded pipefish is because they are hardier out of most of them plus the one I have came from a reef tank breakdown, I learnt the hard way was told when I 1st started marines yep they'll be fine, ended up with a pair of snake pipe fish that ended up dying, ever since then always take what I am told in fish shops with caution and do my own reasrch
