I've merged all the Jeremy Clarkson and Top Gear threads into one.  The Lounge was getting a bit overwhelmed with lots of these all essentially about the same thing.

Thanks:

The BBC Reportedly Offer Terms For Jeremy Clarkson's Top Gear Return | The LAD Bible
The BBC have apparently come up with specific terms which will see presenter Jeremy Clarkson return to his duties on Top Gear.

It is dependent on him agreeing to conditions set by the broadcaster, which he is believed to not be happy about at all.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, an executive will be put in place as Clarkson's 'minder'. Basically, they want to give him a baby-sitter to make sure he doesn't do anything controversial again.

The paper quotes a source from the BBC saying:

I think that people do see a way to resolve this, and that is by putting someone strong in to manage the show and manage Clarkson. He is a brilliant broadcaster, everyone can see that.
It comes after the petition to reinstate Clarkson as host on Top Gear was the fastest growing of its kind in the last two years, gaining nearly 1 million signatures, and staving off competition from a rival campaign to get Clarkson replaced by Alan Partridge.

On top of that, it was revealed his co-hosts, James May and Richard Hammond, refused to film the show without him so the BBC could broadcast the remaining episodes in the series.

The BBC Director General is supposed to be set for a meeting very soon with the man himself and the final decision on what will happen should be made.

Thanks:

Excellent. The thing is, Clarkson is loaded, and doesn't need the job really does he? If I were in his shoes, I'd probably tell them to stick it up their ass, and go live in the Bahamas for the rest of my life, with my family, enjoying the fortune I'd amassed... So I'm really hoping he does love the show and agrees to any terms he has to, to be back on TV.

The thing about Hammond and May, if true, while I'd like to think they're being good mates, comrades, and using that to persuade the BBC to re-instate Clarkson (so they'll think they've lost all 3, if they sack Clarkson), is that the correct way to interpret it? Or do they mean that they just don't want to do the show alone, or don't think it'll be as successful and so don't want to be on a sinking ship?

Either way, it's seeming to be steering in the right direction.

Look at Russel Brand.  Seems similar to me.  Big contoversial moment, just moves on to do the same thing elsewhere.  If Jeremy wants to do a car show, there will be loads of people waiting to snap him and the others up.  The BBC won't want to lose the show, so if they can wangle their own rules to allow him to stay on an official final warning or something, I guess they will.  It's down to pride now, for both sides.

Jeremy Clarkson 'Will Be Sacked' By The BBC  Following a 'fracas' with a producer, the long-time Top Gear host will lose his job at the BBC
By Darren Cassey, 24 March 2015120
Jeremy Clarkson 'Will Be Sacked' By The BBC - Top Gear
Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson will be sacked by the BBC tomorrow after an internal investigation found him guilty of attacking a producer.
The 54-year-old was already on a final warning when he got into a ‘fracas’ with producer Oisin Tymon, after a day of filming in Yorkshire. According to The Telegraph:
It is understood a report into the so-called ‘fracas’ at a North Yorkshire hotel, concluded that
[the] presenter spent 20 minutes verbally abusing producer Oisin Tymon, before launching a 30 second physical assault on him.The article goes on to say that, despite removing Clarkson from the show, the BBC will carry on broadcasting Top Gear on BBC Two, with ‘well-placed sources’ claiming Chris Evans is favourite to replace him.
The announcement is expected to be made in a statement by Lord Hall, Director General of the BBC, tomorrow. In the statement, it is understood Hall will defend Clarkson’s controversial style, but will state he was left with ‘no choice’ but to sack the presenter after it was concluded ‘he attacked a junior member of staff’.
We’re updating this story with more information as we get it.

Well i think he wasted 20 mins of his life he should have gone straight to the last 30 seconds....

Yep ITV or Sky ?  If they can handle him people will follow .

BBC was in a bad position tho  , they could not allow him to get away with hitting some one , Mr Clarkson should have held his tongue and his fists and sorted the bloke out, out of BBC premesis  and working hours , still i never had him down as an intelligent bloke  .
