How can Top Gear go forward? Sack Clarkson? Get a new presenter? I mean Clarkson has done everything there anyway  id hate to see him go but if you punch someone at work you are sacked( usually).

I am a confirmed Clarkson hater lmao , I dont watch the programme because of him.

Is any one person bigger than the programme itself ? and was this the problem  here he had such a massive ego ?

Mind you if some one realy annoyed him and he punched the bloke , i dont see a problem there, blokes these days are sposed to behave like pussys .

I want it back asap. I love Top Gear. It's probably the only TV show I watch live, as opposed to recorded for later...

I love Clarkson, and Top Gear.

See I dunno, I think the programme could be better after him, I know people love him for his un PC views/comments ect but if they sack him life goes on, they will get someone else and he will make programmes elsewhere........He's done everything on Top Gear BUT it wont be the same.

It will end up like Fifth Gear and go really shat....the past series IMHO has gone downhill anyway as have the presenters. I really used to like Clarkson at one time but in the words of JM he's a COCK!

At one point all the cock ups, banter and the likes didn't look as staged as they do now......one episode is just like another now.

I will miss it...but not like I may have done say a few years ago!

UPDATE: Jeremy Clarkson Quits Top Gear, Show Cancelled for Good - autoevolution

Petrolheads all over, ladies and gents that enjoyed Top Gear's "ambitious but rubbish" take on all things automotive, it pains us to announce that Jeremy Clarkson calls it quits in his column in The Sun.

In a piece titled "So we lose the tiger... but gain acid-spit snail," Jeremy Clarkson talks about nature's battle against extinction and the future of the Top Gear trio. Without further ado, this is how Jezza broke the silence in his most recent column for the tabloid:

"I THINK it’s fair to say that nature made a mistake when it invented the dinosaur. It was too big, too violent and with such small and puny arms it was never going to be able to operate heavy machinery or even enjoy a bit of special “me” time." Pretty easy to understand, but we haven't even got to the most tear-jearking part yet.

“All the dinosaurs died and now, years later, no-one mourns their passing. These big, imposing creatures have no place in a world which has moved on.” What these two lines point at is the dying of Top Gear as a show and how the presenter will have to move on.

Despite 880,000-plus signatures for the #BringBackClarkson petition, Jezza suggests that all our efforts were in vain: “You can start as many campaigns as you like and call on the support of politicians from all sides, but the day must come when you have to wave goodbye to the big monsters, and move on.”

This is the end and we can't do anything about it...

Fingers crossed other British broadcasting companies will bite his arm off and Clarkson will convice May and Hammond to start a new motoring show from square one. It will be hard to convince those two to jump on the bandwagon, but it won't be impossible.

Even if not for May and Hammond, if Jeremy will make a pay-per-view YouTube channel and continue filming car reviews, it'll still be enough to soothe our fevered petrolhead brows. Best of luck, Jezza!
UPDATE: Captain Slow confirmed that Top Gear is kaput in a not-so-cryptic manner.

UPDATE 2: The Mirror reports that "Jeremy Clarkson called Top Gear producer Oisin Tymon 'a lazy Irish ****," and that "Clarkson ranted for half an hour then punched him in the mouth - he was bleeding and dizzy so he had to go to hospital." In related Jeremy Clarkson news, bbc.co.uk was offline this afternoon, possibly because digital protest group Anonymous threatened an attack on the site a few days ago.

It was able once it was clear hit hit someone at work.  No company can let that go.

Shame, as I really liked Top Gear.  He'll likely start up on some other channel - Top Gear was a huge money maker, so someone will snap him up and call it something different.  Not sure about the others following him though, as they have other series they're contracted to.  Time will tell.

I'm having none of it. I can't believe it. It's like when the police break bad news to family after a fatal car crash and they simply refuse to accept it...

In all seriousness, I think that small-time news outlet is probably jumping the gun, and fabricating an article in hope it'll get them a lot of backlinks and traffic.

I just can't see how a hugely popular show can be cancelled like that. It's too popular. Shows get cancelled when they can't continue either because they're unpopular or the sole presenter dies, etc. I certainly can't believe anyone would describe Top Gear as "dead", it's viewing figures speak for themselves.

Well  punching some one is gross misconduct , and about one of the only things you can get immediate dismissal for.

The BBC didnt have much choice even if the  person concerned did deserve a slap.

Time was lads disputed differences of opinion with a scrap , sorted it and went down the pub for a pint .

I realy dont like Clarkson but I cannot disaprove of what he did , its the sort of thing Garry would do .

Ah yes just checked Oisin means little deer /fawn  ...so obviously the guy has issues mummy having named him little deer  ?

Garry now likes Clarkson , says he would have done the same thing  , as he has already stuffed a member of staff upside down in a grunden  , plus done something rather nasty to another lads bits and pieces , its no wonder he sympathises .

Oh by the way its like the wild west up here , no limits  :O

I watch top gear for the cars, the antics, the star in the reasonably priced car, Jeremy is only known as being un-PC since being PC became a thing (a lot of blokes his age are known for being un-PC, because they tell it as they see it), why isn't he allowed to say what he thinks?
I haven't looked into the latest thing, and personally could care less what happens off screen,
I might be back....
