Oh I'm not working tonight. Will be for the next 3 nights so tonight is the "body clock adjustment" night. Will hit the hay soon though.

Been at an rx8 meet tonight. Got a ride in my mates turbocharged 8 now he has sorted out the mapping.
Boy is that awesome. Wish they all had turbos...

Is he on the 8 forum?

I was taken for a ride in Cheebags 07 low mileage 8 which has excellent compression the other day and omg it pulls harder than mine... Atleast from the passenger seat I'm not sure you can compare driver/passenger seat. :S

Yeah "Flameshades"
Helped him do the engine swap/turbo installation last summer.

The decline in performance is so gradual that you wouldn't notice in your own car. Its only when you drive a good one that you can tell.

Boys and their toys eh. I'm dreading what happens when Paul sells his car in summer, lol I've got a feeling it's gonna be harder for him to part with that he thinks haha. Esp when he'll technically be car sharing with me for a bit... Major downgrade hahaha

Well I'm downgrading too soon. My insane insurance and £300 a month fuel bill brings the cost of my car to over £800 per month. So I've had enough now and will be getting something extremely the other direction. I'm after 40+mpg in town and 70+mpg on the motorway.  :O Currently I get 12mpg.

When I get another couple of years NCD or move house, I'll be back in the fast lane

Lol. Tell me about it. Paul's car costs a fortune to run. We went out the other weekend and spent £80 in fuel alone.

Got a few little tidying bits to do to the car before we sell it and then that's the mortgage deposit sorted as it's tied up in the car at present.

I love the car, but it's not fun it's just fast and it's a lot of money in it so I refuse point blank to drive it.. I mean could you imagine if I scratched it! Eeek

so I refuse point blank to drive it..

Yeah it's always a bit nerve-wracking when there's 3 figure BHP under a woman's right foot.

Yeah, my car is excellent fun to drive, but it's just hindering our lifestyle, in that a pleasant trip to the seaside on a sunday means £40 round trip in fuel. Off-putting. In the new car that promises 74mpg on the motorway it should cost about £8 round trip. :D

Oi cheeky! Lol altho I do still drive like I'm on a motorbike I have no perception of distance it seems and I'll take chances in hindsight I really shouldn't

Yeah the fuel things a big issue, as it the tax. I moan about mine but Paul's tax is a joke! Costs more than my petrol for a month every month in just his tax alone lol

Yeah Tax for the RX8 is £170 for 6 months I think. £250 for the year. The newer RX8s are £490 per year to tax!

The new car should be £30 a year! :D

I have no perception of distance

Don't worry Jess that's Women in general.

Yeah Paul's car is something like £500 a year for tax. Bloody expensive esp seeing as tho we barely use his car. It's just sat outside the house, during the week he uses the van or my car cos the car seats in it and at weekend we end up using mine as cheaper to run anyway lol.

Aaah well least it's not just me. I thought that was just my bad habits lol.

Yeah £490 is the highest tax band. It's any car that outputs over a certain CO2 threshold. There is no higher, so his car is the same to tax as a lambo, newer rx8s the same.

Older ones are exactly the same but are before the tax change was brought in so they don't get the new higher band.
