Yeah, that's pretty strange seeing it for real like that.  Amazing how many trees have sprung up all over the place.  I love that nature is reclaiming the land

I love urban abandonment, and urban decay, I find it really fascinating, it's like a moment in history frozen in time as nothing is changed as the years fly by. Similar to thinking about the life of a 3000 year old tree, how the world and landscape must have changed around it over that time, like a time-lapse video.

So, waterboarding? What's it all about?

Obviously I know what waterboarding is, but I've always been curious as to why it's as bad as it's said to be. So I set out to do some research.

I thought maybe I'll give it a go, in my own controlled environment, but after reading a really excellent post on StraightDope, I won't even consider even attempting it. The guy explains the experience so well it leaves no doubt in my mind it's horrific, totally tortuous and not something I want to try at home...

Read: I waterboard! - Straight Dope Message Board

Watch: Christopher Hitchens in a controlled experiment of it.

Just curiosity,  :glad: Wanted an understanding of why it's so bad, as it never seemed to be something that'd be torturous in any way, but I've a good understanding now that it's very awful.

Yeah I know  it sounds like you just hold yer breath ..but....I had recently read a book called I am Pilgrim  and that contained in depth  description of the technique .

Actualy just standing up with yer arms stretched out can be pretty torturous , plus theres not allowing you to sleep , or constant playing of Cliff Richards or Wham records , or in my case Status Quo , id tell um anything they wanted to know after 5 mins  :embarrassed:

The wind up generates power, but I'm pretty sure everyone would see that coming and just take a step back.

Still, very impressive!

So the extra spins are good for a static object, but he'd have to make do with the power of one quick spin for a real situation... That's cool.
