no you don't! Imagine one tiny bit of sand under it and then it buggers off around the tank scratching the crap out of it when your not there  :grin:
Unless it doesn't go down as far as the sand, then i can see if being a fun little gadget to play with.

I still want one of those RC submarines that did the rounds a while back

You can program it to stay away from sand bed :)
