Hi, I plan on getting 3 circulation pumps for a 6 foot tank (670 litres) does it matter what size I get? For example if a pump is rated as up to 500 litres will it be ok in my tank if there are 3 of them or does it not work like that?

Hi , I think it would come down to where you place them in the tank , if your looking to move the water 6ft apart you may be looking to go a bit bigger .

Thanks:

Thanks, I was thinking maybe 1 foot from each end & 1 in the middle if that's enough movement? I'm not sure what controller to go with yet possibly the Tunze 7000 smart controller.

Powerheads are normally variable, for instance this one:

This will do 10,000 - 20,000 LPH.

You need around 30 times the display tank volume for flow, so 670L x 30 = 20,100LPH. so, in theory, that pump above would be enough, but it's unlikely you'll eliminate all deadspots with one powerhead, so I'd choose two or three smaller ones.

ok, so if I place 1 pump each end & 1 in the middle I should be ok if they are 7000 lph each

Yes. I'd pick slightly higher, then you can turn them down or up depending on how it works out.
