My Jebao WP40 stopped working today

Over the last 3 days, I've found my Jebao WP40 had stopped doing anything.  The controller was still on, and on 'Else' mode, where I'd left it, but the pump was sat idle.  I moved it on to another mode and it started up again.  I moved it on to 'Else' again, and it continued as normal.  I found it like that again this morning, but had to unplug the power and plug it back in again to get it working.  Tonight, nothing worked.  I've also now taken it apart, cleaned it all (it was a bit mucky inside), and put it all back together again.  Put it back in the tank and tried it...nothing.  The controller still shows the right lights, etc, but I've no idea if it's the controller or the pump at fault.  I don't know anyone local that I can swap parts about with to test that either.

Ideas to fix it anyone?

What would you buy as a replacement?  I'm thinking another WP40 (or whatever the newer version is), two of the smaller ones, or something else?

NB: I have a Rio Polario 10ML wave maker (don't ask!) which is enough to keep the tank ticking over for a few days I think.

HK, does it work out of water? Obviously don't run it for any time, but I'd rinse it in fresh water to get rid of conductive salt, then dry it out, and give it a go. If it works, then try it in a bucket of RODI as pure as you can get/keep it, as that doesn't conduct electricity, but will keep it cool so it can run for hours to test. If it doesn't trip out in the RODI, you know it's leaking and shorting out with the salt water.

One of mine has stopped again, 2 weeks ago it had stopped and Garry took it out cleaned it up and returned it , now its stopped again, it might be significant that its the one on wave , however i do think I shouldnt need to do this every 2 weeks....

I'd not touched mine for over a year.  Seemed pretty reliable until now.  I've written to fishstreet to ask their advice - i.e. have they seen this issue, and what's the fix.  Will see what they say.

Found a brand new RW-20 locally for £60.  Think I'm gonna grab that, as I already have the variable power supply, so can tone it down, but use this on full whack when I upgrade.
