Will be playing with aquascape today, mixture of barnacles, "live" rock and dead rock (and Bio Media in Sump Section)

Closing in on the finished scape, when i transfer the livestock in from the 5.5G (Monday) I can bulk out this central column and work on placing the secondary and tertiary rockwork

Well just about to leave the office for the weekend (and this tank) thankfully everything looked to get full extension before the lights shut off. Going to have a restless weekend worrying about the system but should be fine until Monday morning (since the smaller systems were mostly fine)

Good effort looking nice!

Cheers bud,

Well in all honesty I ran out of time during my lunch break and decided that the ATO was more important than having an ugly heater in the display. I'm still fiddling with the back section. Not working how I'd like it to.

Got a few heater options and places I can fit them in the back, struggling to get a lot of water in the output pump section (hence ATO). I dropped the water line in the DT so if the ATO does fail I shouldnt flood the office. 😅

Thanks, went remarkably easy. Everyone swam into the rock as I was transferring them to the big tank. Except the clown she refused to budge from the barnacle so had to take her wrath and lift the whole thing out with her in it.

Going to let it settle and hunt down some end of the month additions.

Morning all,

The reef survived its first weekend, I need to get the ATO set up and container filled today. The Water level had dropped to just below my weir and was blowing bubbles from the output nozzle. Other than that  all looks good, I have a small diatoms bloom on the right hand side of the tank but other than that all looks good

That's a lovely looking tank you have mate, I'm sure it's going to be  stunning once it's been running for a while

@Reefermad , thank you. Everything seems to be settling in nicely. Still have some things left to do with the tank but it runs with very little input from me. Now the issue of finding nice corals and fish comes into play.

@Animal , currently yes although now I only have the larger (34G) reef running. I have too many tanks at home currently (fresh and brackish)  for a reef. In the next year or so that should change as my Betta's are now aging (8+ Years on both) so once those tanks are done I can think about a home reef. I have been thinking about turning the brackish into a full Reef tank but still a way off with that.

I'm head engineer for a construction company, also I have a few mental health issues and having a tank at work calms me down, and motivates me to get to work at all if i am not feeling it in the morning. Knowing I have something to look after really motivates me to get upa nd get on with my day.

Thanks:

Morning All,

Got a combination of Diatoms (new sand) and Cyano (flow), I need to shuffle tings around a bit (move the wavemakers to combat dead spots) as well as siphon this muck out. Picking up a Strombus Snail at lunch time to see what that does in the tank (apart from launch itself off of my rocks)

Well finally got the ATO set up today. Used the empty 5.5G Cube as the reservoir
Had a few mis-fires (got a bit wet) but now up and running int iem for the weekend, feel much better about leaving the system unattended over the weekend

It's a syphon break to stop it back-syphoning the tank into the ato res.

From memory it should be above the water line in the ato res but do check the docs as its a while since i set mine up.

Thanks:
