Added some new dry rock and fresh sand yesterday night. placed some of the LR from my tank in, and a thumbnail piece of reef frenzy.
Test this evening
0 ammonia
0 nitrite
10 nitrate.
Ill add some more reef frenzy tonight and test again same time tomorrow.
So far i have nothing else in the tank or sump, ive never actually done a cycle ao any advice is welcome. : )

Decide on cladding colour? (I had assumed it was staying black!)

Test results Day 6
Am 0
Ni 0.1
Na 10
First time ive seen Ni present, still no Am but i could have missed this?
Slow increase on Na over the week.
Am I heading in the right direction?
Ive been feeding small amounts daily to get some colony build up in the new sand and rock.
I plan to add my current tank contents to this tank  next weekend....Thoughts?

Personally I think it looks fantastic black (but if you were going to clad I think I would go third from the right!)

Parameters look pretty good. You would expect a little fluctuation at this stage as it settles down. As you have added the colony and some decent live rock I would say things are looking pretty good (especially as you are picking up the Nitrates but not the Ammonia)

Thanks:

just like to say goodbye to an old friend.. You served me well for 4 years, and no will be rescued by the friend who got me into this hobby in the first place.
