Yes Hai it is abit over what ide usual keep my tank at, im trying to find the balance of top up w/c mixing ratios and what nots : ) it was  low when i first setup as i ran out of salt and may of over done it on my next 2 w/cs to pull it up and now im slowly dropping it bk.. what i dont want to do is loose my elements by not adding enough salt.. its a balancing act.

set it up so the bubbles are close to the top but not going to the top of the skimmer ( if that makes sense? )

If the liquid it's producing is too pale, then you're skimming too wet. Adjust it so that the water/air line is a bit lower, so the bubbles in the neck of the skimmer can linger around longer, before overflowing into the cup, that'll give you a darker skimate.

Tx.. i had it down skimming wet but dark.. then i uprated my return pump, gaining 5mm on the water line of the dt and now i cant get it right again? Ive got the skimmer sitting much higher out of the water than the minimum line and the air shut off  as much as possible but its still filling the cup with clean water grr!!

I think air shouldn't be shut off in a skimmer

Try opening up the air but then closing the flow down instead.

Ive finally found the sweet spot : ) not 2 much bubble leak in to the dt and a good slow dark skim.. im hoping im not gonna have to go thro the same everytime i clean it or it maybe a dustbin job!

not done a full set of tests in a few weeks as i was getting frustrated with always getting the same false readings.. so for the last 2 weeks ive been running a skimmer and dosing 1ml per day nopox, i also got an upgraded light for my refugium last week. Tank algae is reducing at a nice steady rate and my corals overall have been happier : )
So test day.. my results on the 3 Ns and p have remained 0 or trace my mag and cal have risen a tiny bit.. the thing thats struck me is my alk and PH which seem to have dropped a fair bit?..
skimmer? Nopox? Accelerated refugium? Any ideas.... what the cause is?

Calcium needs to be around 420 to be in balance with alk at 8.6 but is near enough

PH is on the low side do you have good surface agitation as that can make a big difference on PH

Mag basically spot on.

Nopox will effect oxygen levels in the water what's your oxygen reading ?

If u take a climpse at post #49 ive got a RW8 angled up, micro bubbles coming from my mini skimmer and 3 overflows pulling water to the sump.. so im fairly sure my water is well oxygenated but tbh ive never tested.. is it something ude advise?

When dosing anything that can deplete oxygen it's always advisable to test it when I fist used nopox I bought nopox and an oxygen test kit as I like to know what's going on.

You have plenty of surface agitation then at what time are you checking PH as first thing in morning will be lower then say in the evening after lights been on ect.

Just remember any PH upping chemicals will also alter your alkalinity so you better of looking for a natural method instead of the chemical aproach.

What salt are you currently using
