I don't think that it would work with Cichlids. Mollies, Guppies and Platys are usually found in tropical brackish locations so can take the change to pure salt water. I also noticed this morning that the pregnant females no longer appeared pregnant so will be inspecting for fry in the rear chambers later this evening

Maybe they will have another batch which will fare better after they’ve been more acclimatised. I find the females look huge and struggle to move so just sit at the bottom before they are going to give birth. Maybe they ate the babies? Next batch you may be able to save some :)Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

They also have some of the best and most complicated eyes in the animal kingdom. They have multiple pupils per eye, you can see them moving around. They can see way beyond our visible spectrum right into X-ray spectrum iirc. Watch some YouTube vids like from MentalFloss on mantis eyes. They’re amazing. And the cavitation caused by their supersonic click is hotter than the surface of the sun. Lots of records broken by mantis shrimp.
Oh yeah, it's pistol shrimp that do the cavitation click isn't it, mantis have hammers. I'm sure I recall my mantis clicking though.

Looking forward to this one @Ratvan Do you know what species of shrimp it is? I looked up 'green mantis' and there were a few quite different ones.
