Phew! All the fish from the nano are now in and doing well.   8D

Sadly not all the coral and inverts have made it.  I put them into my QT and sadly the stress has done for a few of them.  Also my new lawnmower blenny (that was already in the QT) has died 😥 i assume the dying corals released something into the water. I was running a tonne of carbon in there, but obviously it wasn't enough.

Oh no, what a shame! If you need some frags let me know as the frag tank needs a bit of a clear out!

Thanks:

Sorry to hear you lost some corals and inverts. Fish doing fine?
Can try posting some softies if you need to fill space?

Thanks mate! Probably just going to keep acros in this tank, but thanks for the offer - much appreciated!!
The fish and shrimp are doing fine now in the main tank  8D  Have now lost all the snails bar one,  and the one remaining one is not really moving.  :(

Check out this cool little guy I found stuck on my old live rock though.  He's about an inch and a half in size, so must have been in there quite a while!

I've added him to the new tank and he's stuck himself to the rock (tongue inwards weirdly - the side you see in the pic is stuck in the rock) so hopefully he'll survive. 8D

The uglies have well and truly kicked in now. I've got diatoms in the tank and all over the filter sock. Green sludge (cyano?) All over the fuge.

Got 7 banded trochus and a conch to work on it. 😎

Is that first pic a cone snail? It looks remarkably like one.

Well it was sold to me as a strawberry conch, i'll have a close look at him tonight!

Seems like this is how you identify unless you have any tips?  https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Comparison-between-A-a-venomous-cone-shell-Conus-pennaceus-and-B-a-harmless-conch_fig1_320746534

Phew, I think your right there.
If you had a cone snail you'd want it out double quick, but I think you're right to identify it as a conch

I'm definitely going to be double checking! Wouldn't be the first time I've been sold something that had been misidentified by the shop/TMC.

In other news my effectively brand new RW-8 has already gone wrong 🙄 I've taken it to pieces and left it soaking in citric acid so hopefully that will sort it.  Can't afford to put in a decent powerhead with the cost of all the stuff we're having done to the house at the moment so hopefully I can coax a few more months out of it!!
