Is that in the 85L? I need to re read that thread

It was but I think it predates the thread.   I had a lot of problems with my water quality in the early days of this tank and corals would grow well for a few months then strip over night.  I think it was either zinc or copper coming through.  Eventually sorted it with Polyfilter and a three stage DI filter.

edit; actually it is in there straight up from the acan on the lower right:

Looks totally red in the pic but it had a blue base colour on the skin and the growing tips got a flash of fluorescent yellow on them.

edit 2:  not my pic but it looked like this:

I'm going to see if i can find my old DSLR Camera and try using that to take some pictures. My phone just isn't hacking it with the Kessil Light, I can get greens and blues relatively close to how I see it with my eyes but I cannot for the life of me get a true red in my photos. Mind you the light is still in acclimation mode

Have you tried those yellow/orange filters?

I have a set for the Galaxy S9, but upgraded to a different phone so they no longer fit, might see if I ink a viewing panel if that'll work. Like you do when driving to France..

Oh yeah ordered a tiny little HOB from China to help with the early detritus in the tank. Tank is 14cm wide for reference

Nice one, was looking at one of these types to run purigen through a couple of my freshwater tanks.  Does the plastic cup within the tank extend to the surface to act like a skimming cup?

Not Initially out of the box no, I'm working on that at the moment. Need to lift it 5cm or so

Good thing I have this thread, 11 days since last water change. Tested water and Nitrates 10ppm and Phosphates 0.03. So 50% change to get those Nitrates down for the Monti. Also shifted all three hammers to the same rock.

I think that my Hermit is now becoming a menace, spotted one of the Hammers looking a little torn and tatty (my favourite sky blue and lilac - of course) so have shifted it to the sandbed for recovery. Might need to shift that hermit out the tank soon if it keeps damaging corals

Apologies for the heavy blues, lights have just come on for the day

Blue Legged, think he must be a little too eager to steal the food from the lps

So the Hammer hasn't gotten any better or worse so I have left it where it was, the others are looking nice right now as well. (Picture 1.)

I still would like some more clean up crew in here, the Astrea, Nassarius and Bumble Bee Snail, along with the Hermit are doing well at keeping down algae on the rock, hopefully can find some glass cleaners as well soon, a couple of Ceriths for the sandbed would not go amiss. Possibly looking into getting a Cowrie for this tank as well. I love my weird little inverts. (Pictures 2 & 3)

The Montipora frag is doing well, I spotted Polyp extension on the cut sides this morning, which is making me think that the tank might be ready for a few more SPS Frags, will have a look and see what I can find. I have been doing a lot of reading lately about how reefs are formed in the wild and wondering if i can replicate a similar sort of thing within this tank, will be interesting for sure. Might need some Pavona soon @DUSTYBOY272  :D
