Just a silly question really ,
So is it safe and ok to scrub the shell gently to keep it nice clean and shiny or best left alone  .

Evening Dave,

I can’t imagine it particularly matters, main thing would be to be as gentle as possible, and although often exposed at low tides I’d leave the snail underwater whilst brushing very lightly with an old toothbrush..

I probably would just leave be in honesty tho :-)
