Just wondering if blue legged hermit crabs like to have a nibble on polyps from SPS, with the clock change this weekend my light sequence was out so I manually put the light on this morning prior to work and found a crab halfway up a coral, I grabbed it straight out and dumped in the refugium for now. The only reason is ask is that my SPS (I only have a couple)have started to lose polyps.

Hmm, not seen that.  Have they got plenty of food?  Hikari Crab Cuisine is pretty good, they love it.

Thanks:

Some asterinas eat coral, never heard of them eating SPS but i think it's possible.

Do the tips have algae growing on them (brown stuff) ? What are your params?

Ill check params, to be honest this coral asn't been effected as yet, I did notice the brown tips (which is really recent), just keeping an eye on this though.

I have put some reef fx (something you previously mentioned for algae in a previous post) so Ive had my skimmer off so don't know if this will effect my params.
