Hi I’m Sharron and new to the group I’m having problems with my marine set up. It’s been established for about 7 years but just before Xmas 2017 we had major problems with our electric and had to send our fish to be looked after and only ran a sump pump and skimmer. Ever since getting it all back up we keep getting white spot affecting mostly the tangs. The chronic shoal is thriving but after putting larger fish in after a week they’re getting covered with white spot. I am currently treating with oodinex and have a cleaner wrasse in there. Can anyone help with other suggestions please as we are at our wits end with what is going wrong.

Thanks everyone, I’ve had a great enthusiast of 20 years come and look at my tank (and even tho I’ve had a different man a marine fish shop owner looking after my tank every week for the past 7 years) the new man that came to look at it told me everything was wrong with it so it’s in the process of having an overhaul and what we have done so far has really made a difference

It's a common story.  Unfortunately, shops are often not reefkeepers themselves (they do what's best for the short term keeping in the shop), and sometimes they're just after selling products.

What have you done then?
