Last night I seen my cleaner shrimp on top of my Duncan coral , it appears to be hard at work possibly trying to get at the corals last meal via the corals mouth ? I chased it away but it has returned this morning . The heads still seem in tact but I'll see what's going on when the lights come on shortly . Is this something that I should be concerned about ??

I had tried to feed it and every one else first so as to give the coral peace to feed , it seems to really like the reefroids I feed my Goni too and is also all over it during coral feeding but never as enthusiastic as it seems with the Duncan at the moment .

Is a cleaner shrimp equipped or strong enough to do any real damage to the coral heads / mouths ?

no idea, but my LPS have done better since my cleaner shrimp pegged it. Coincidence most likely.

Thanks Matt , the tenticles on the heads that it was in at seem a little short and puffier almost like the ends of a BTA , hopefully it won't do any long term damage , I'll just need to keep an eye on it I think

I don't know if they do  damage directly but mine used to root around in my hammer coral all the time causing it to stay retracted.
The most damage it did was crawling up my arm during a water change causing me to jump out of my skin and snap a chunk off my guttatus
