So I'm going to give true peppermint shrimp a go to rid my tank of Aiptasia, as they've evaded every method there is, including a powerful home made electric zapper, which melts them!

I'd like to not mess about and get an army of true peppermint shrimp in there, but is that a good idea? What's the suggested number of shrimp to house?

I've already got 1 Skunk cleaner shrimp, I don't know if they'll fight, etc because they're racist!  :embarrassed:

I think the skunks are more capable of mass genocide!  I have one skunk (simply because I haven't bought another) and one pep, I think to start with two or three for tour tank because you have soo many aips.
I have always bought in pairs, but end up with just one; regardless of tank size? I'd guess a natural balance once aips dry up.
I should really sort this out!!

Thanks:

My Skunk is a big old man now. Quite lethargic. I've had him about 2 years, and he wasn't tiny when I got him. I bought the biggest in the display tank. So guessing he's close to 3 years or more!

I bought shrimps in pairs, as I read you're more likely to see them, and skunks will whittle the numbers down to a pair or one.  Not sure how true that is for other species, but I'd go for 4 in a tank your size.

Fingers crossed they sort out your aip problem.  You've got to get at least one out of four that will go to town on them

They'll do it at night too, I haven't seen mine actually eat the aips, you happen to notice one day that there are less! Also if you can continue to zap them the peps would probably go fo those first.
