Ok, Ive bit the bullet and put in the Tunze Eco Chic refugium light, ive submerged it as it is a little too long in my reefer 250 to be above water as it clashes with the water storage tank.

As anyone got one and is there any advice etc  should I blank off the front of the sump tank so no light gets through, put something on the tank above the water, again to blank off light.

Im waiting on a fresh bit of cheato, Im going to get rid of whats in the refugium now and see how it goes with the fresh bunch, how fast it grows, algae growth etc.

I'm hoping the algae that I get in my other compartments dies down now that the light is submerged into the refugium area only.

To be honest I asked my LFS to get the light, it was a little more expensive than I have seen online but we need to support them so I didnt mind a fiver or so more expensive (probably postage costs anyway).  The cheato I got off ebay but I usually like Live Algae as their products seem clean and good quality (they didnt have any available by the way, nor did my LFS)

I know only too well the problems with fuge light spreading-GHA in other parts of the fuge/ maxspect blocks.
I'm going to have to cover up those blocks to stop the GHA growing on them.
I paid £20 for a fuge light that hangs over the fuge, everything grows like mad.

Little update, cheato as gone mad with this new light and is now creating bubbles (dont think this is a bad thing but I'm sure someone will tell me if that is the case)
