Drilling the bolts might be really hard if the screws are steel and the body is aluminium? It'd be like trying to drill a nail out of a cake.

As for the light, it'll be fine just try to match the intensity visually a bit. Some go without lights for several days when their lights break. I did with the R420r when they were going back for the warranty repair. Had two, and lived with just one for about a week.
