Hi there I am in debate over what lights to get and how many. I have a mix reef tank 18x18x24 I like the hydra 26 hd lights but I also like the zetlight ufo led ze8000 I know hydra are good and most sites rate them but it is price. Then there is the ufo that TMC show case at recent expos. And rate it

I just what to know other people's opinions on both if anyone on here as of the zetlight as I new to the market. Which one would be best coverage for my size tank and how many

Hi Nerrad. Welcome to ReefBase  8D

Does that model of zetlight include a controller?  Don't forget to factor that in if not.

I have a hydra 26HD over your size of tank, and the coverage is pretty good.   I have mine mounted fairly high up and there's still plenty of power.

Hi yes the zetlight I have seen comes with controller free. Some of the reviews I have seen of it say its powerful enough to cover a 4ft tank but have my doubts if it could. It does have 44 creed leds compare to the hydra that obviously has only 26 but they would be of better quality than the zetlight would it not.

Yes they are good quality emitters (the zetlight may be too, i don't know).  The 26 is higher wattage though.

The other thing which might swing it one way or the other is which one does a mount which will fit your tank easiest?

The zetlight is 96w and hydra is 95w so not really a difference also the zetlight goes come with both tank mount and hanging kit so that's not a problem.

Oh, so it is, I read the wrong line in the spec. PAR looks pretty similar in both lights.

Yeah that's where in coming at a cross roads as same but what are the control app for both like which is better and price is it worth the price tag for the 26hd if the zetlight is on par with it. I think mi my not find someone that has had the zetlight and can give some insight

I've used zetlights before and rate them. They were only the smaller ones though. I'd sway towards the zetlight, but thats because i like to have something different to the usual! :)
