I have 2x fluval marine 3.0 - the problem I'm having which is driving me mad is the noise coming from the LED's its a really high pitch whining which is giving me a headache. Its a lot worse which the lights on 50% rather than full. Has anyone else got this light and has the same problem?

Hi mate, I've merged your topics, I think it makes more sense to have it under lighting than beginner Qs, hope you don't mind. 😊

As for the noise,  is it like an electric buzzing sound (as opposed physical from the fan bearings or whatever)?

Sometimes you get that from the type of dimming (PWM) that LEDs use.   Not sure if there's a fix to be honest, other than replacing the unit.

yes that's fine. I'm not sure what it is. but yes, its not from fans or anything like that. I wouldn't be able to record the noise I don't think as its really high pitched. You know sometimes you get that buzzing noise in your ears? its exactly like that lol

Like this?
If so yeah that's PWM whine.  Like I said, not sure there's an easy fix 😒 (unless you can make it a bit brighter or dimmer to avoid the noise and stay at roughly the brightness you want?)
