DO LED lights have an expiry ?

I am running a TMC Illuminare V2 900 set up, do the lights lose their mojo just like standard fluorescent tubes had the set up now 2 yrs  :grin:

I think I've seen 10 years banded around but I don't think there has been any long term studies.
Also % and time on would play a major part in life expectancy.

I had a conversation similar to this at LFS just last week , the LED's will probably outlast every other component on the unit , unless subjected to excessive heat due to poor air flow around the light (under a hood etc) , power packs and driver components being the more regularly repaired over LED pucks .

LED's do slowly go down hill, but unlike T5's which will take roughly 6-8 months to go down hill. IIRC it's somewhere around the 7-8 years as long as they are correctly cooled and ran at lower power than they can 'handle'
