Cloudy water

Hi  I'm new to reefing and want some advice Iv just set up my tank and 3 days in still cloudy (greenish) water I washed the sand until water was clear put the dry rock in filled with water purchased from the shop added micro lift special blend  run the filter and still cloudy

Hi Lee, welcome to ReefBase

Could be a bacterial bloom or very fine dust from the sand/rocks. 
Have you got any floss in the filtration?  I'd say it took probably a month for mine to fully clear and like you I rinsed the sand beforehand.

The filter is carbon and zeolite

Yeah that is pretty green!  Algae bloom most likely then.  Again floss will probably help.  Maybe can you can pull out the carbon/zerolite block and stuff it full of floss instead?

Assume you're not running the light yet?

No light yet  hopefully it will settle down
