Weird oval shaped snail

Seems to have a shell and lots of little feelers round the edge, but it's an odd oval shape, not a cone like an astrea.

and what it looks like outside the tank...it's about 5mm long





edit: actually what i thought were feelers might just be a little bit of algae on the shell

I've now seen the little dude open and close, so yeah definitely a clam type creature.  Must admit I had no idea those things could move about in the tank!

Hi Andy , I've a few in the rocks of my tank , they seem to like to attach themselves just inside a hole in the rock with a medium amount of flow around . Ive not seen them move considerably but they do appear to retract into their hole and close up during the evening / night .

Cheers Gav,  I don't think i would have noticed this one except for the fact he went walkies and ended up at the top of the tank!   
I used artificial rock so it must have come in on a coral and survived the dip!
