Seeing as though I know several of you on here are into photography this seemed the best place to ask...

I am after an all-round camera, that I can use day to day to get some nice pictures of my little man and my pets and my tank also...

I don't have a lot of money to spend but I've needed a new camera for some time, my HD underwater digital camcorder just won't cut it for everyday use haha....

What do I want to be looking for spec wise for a good all-rounder? The last time I spend a fair amount of money on a camera was whenI was about 17 and the Sony H2 came out!!  :undecided:

If you're looking for a point and shoot I have a sony T90 12 mega pixel. Does what we need. Not an expensive camera when compared to an DSLR.
I should really sort this out!!

What's your budget jess ? http://www.wexphotographic.com good place to look as they have customer reviews and sometimes and expert review to look at. Really depends on budget. i would say point and shoot if you're not wanting to spend too much money. let me know your budget and i'll tell you what i would buy for that sort of money. :)

The Canon G10 has come down in price now, has an excellent sensor, manual modes we need for pictures of the tank and isn't as expensive as a DSLR.

G10 Is an excellent camera. Very versatile and meets the needs of a complete photography newbie to an advanced user. I use to have one until I recently upgraded.

Reopening this thread....

So what's the current suggestions?

Seeing as though my birthday is coming up I may get Paul to treat me to a camera.

I'm on a budget what with the house move coming up, so nothing too expensive.

I can't cope with my phone for pictures, my new is gorgeous, greens and reds but my phone does it no favours and I end up with this....
