thats was shot with a canon 100mm f2.8 macro. not the L-series. It's alot of fun to use. Would be good on your camera as you would be shooting at 160mm which would give you the ability to get even closer than i can.

My most spontaneous shot is this:

I was mid pint gulp when I heard them, but they were screaming past like bullets. I luckily already had correct settings dialed in, and my big white lens focuses instantly, so I just managed to put the pint down, flick the camera on (decent newer DSLRs go from on to ready to take a shot in a fraction of a second) then spray off some shots. Exposure, composition, etc all excellent.
