I'm looking at the Canon G11 (or SX50) as a cheap replacement for my DSLR.

As Ash said it does fulfill my primary requirement of wanting RAW data from it, but while looking at the specs, it has a dedicated "Aquarium" scene mode. Which will just be a high saturation, contrast mode with a high kelvin white balance and a reasonably fast shutter speed, but it's useful to know Camera Manufacturers are starting to realise people like taking snaps of their tanks!

Yeah for £400 I'd want a DSLR, I sold my 650D for that!

I'm looking at the SX50 more now though.

hehe, i think i will buckle soon. my camera bag is so big and when i go out with my DSLR and try to travel light i miss the battery grip and then think ill take both 24-70 and 70-200, ooh and a flash just in case, and i may as well carry it all for the little bit of weight my 85mm prime and macro take up.

if i had this i could do what i wanted. i was looking at the G1 x so think the G15 / G16 will be where i go. the SC5o has a smaller sensor size which would be the big downer for me.
