Hi everyone

I've got a question about filter media for filter cups.

My tank is designed in such a way that if I don't use the filter cups/sock chambers it makes a lot more noise.  Because of this, I'm forced to use them but haven't used cups in the past.

I've got a 2kg bag of sea shells I bought online and was wondering if I could crush some of them up to put in the cups?

Any thoughts on the pros and cons of this?

The shells are a mixed bag if that helps.

Thanks
Stef

I would have thought this will help with PH, but would trap a lot of rubbish, might be worth adding filter floss on top
