Anybody tried using kalk paste to remove palys?  I've already scraped them off and they grew back in a few days.

Other ideas welcome, they're driving me bonkers!

Putty will block the light to them, then break it off later.

Cheers for the advice @HK_Fuey

Must admit i couldn't be bothered to deal with d-d putty again, as last time it clouded up my tank so I did try the kalk.

Last night I put probably a 1/8 tsp of the powder in a plastic lid and added drops of tank water until it was liquid enough to be sucked into a salifert KH syringe I had knocking about.  Then I just blobbed some onto the palys like the little white dogs turds you used to see in the 80s.

edit: what a useless pic that is!   lol  oh well

Will post again when when I get some results.

Right, it's worked as far as I can see, on the ones I've done no more palys  :D

However I did have a slight disaster last night, as being a clumsy sod I dropped some kalk paste in the tank which somehow ended up in the powerhead before i could suck it back out.

This morning a couple of SPS corals have stripped a little at the base.  DKH is only 0.5 higher than prev test, but I guess the fluctuation was too rapid, or maybe it peaked a lot higher.  Worth it to be rid of the brown pest palys anyway I reckon.
