Hi everyone, I bought my first coral on Sunday. It's a green mushroom colony chosen due to its colour being the same as my football teams strip! The pic doesn't do the colour justice as it's much brighter green than it looks. Now that it's all settled and all of the polyps are stretched out the piece of live rock they are on looks really crowded? This might be a silly question but should I move some of them to another rock to give them space to grow?

Any advice on this or advice in general about this type of coral would be greatly appreciated! I have it on the sand bed in a low flow area and it's seems happy enough so far! Lighting is 4 T5's but I still only have two on as I was worried about to much light too soon?

Cant see too well but think thier Discosoma, they if you put them near other rocks spread and walk as they wish. They propagate via division.med light med flow.

Thanks Carol, I think you are correct about the type of mushroom it is. Thanks for the tips, I think I'll leave them to sort themselves out it just looked like they were fighting for space to spread out on the rock! I was advised to have it in a low flow area but I'll move it somewhere with a slightly higher flow if that's what they prefer!

No if thier happy leave them, its conjective what high or low is anyway. They do walk if not happy but only on rock, they move apart as they split and grow too
