So i have almost got my new tank in! Red Sea 350 Base unit is made, sump fitted, just need the tank in from the garage then i can start putting things together!
Which has made me think about skimmers... i was gonna revive my old aquamedic skimmer  but i can't find the collection cup and i sold the pump so i think buying new will certainly be the easiest and nicest solution! But there is so much choice out there now!
I'm really looking for something quite compact as i'd like to turn a area of the sump for cheato and it's not huge.... Does anyone have any suggestions?

There is a fair size space but ideally i'd like to use half of it for cheato. It's currently 16.5x13.4in (42x34cm)

How about something like this:
Bubble Magus G5 Internal Skimmer - 300-500L

Bubble Magus is a good brand.  The footprint is small, and would leave plenty of space (you'll need to divide the chamber, as cheato will catch on the skimmer and stop rotating if they're in together).  It's also rated for a tank your size (you need to get something roughly the right size - too small and it won't take out enough organics, too big and it can't collect enough proteins to form a foam properly).
