Just wondering, do you run your lights on a schedule in the reactor?
I had mine on 24/7

I also have mine on 24/7 but I did read somewhere that you should have it on a timer. I can’t remember why but it didn’t make sense to me.

How's your growth it's done on opposites to help with PH as PH will drop as main tank lights go off but having it on 24 hours won't hurt.

Interesting read on PH here the reason PH alteres is during day photosynthesis takes place (When lights on)

It's working fine Marty, only problem is I can't grow chaeto, tried twice and it just melts away. So I just let micro algae grow instead. Some long hair algae and maybe some turf.

Tbh As long as it's growing there instead of the display tank I'm a happy bunny!

But yeah nice design, barely needed to touch it so far.

Strange you are struggling with chaeto maybe worth asking Shane to post you some of his as that chaeto been going several years and I've handed plenty of that out and no one has had trouble growing that.

Help
I got this  LED Plant Grow Strip Light 16.4Ft Full Spectrum SMD 5050 Red Blue /12V 5A Power But I. Pooped up it requires. 5A power supply  got any ideas as to what will fit the  DC inlet. I have an old laptop power supply but need the actual connector that will fit the DC adaptor the laptop one is not the right shape or size ( I got the DC adaptor with the strip and hooked it up to the bare wires at one end)
Also what I don’t understand is what do I do with the bare wires at the  other end  from the DC connector do they need to be  crossed to makcircuit so the strip will work ?

Have you tried contacting the people you bought it from to ask for the power supply?  Sure they'll send you one (custom order maybe) if you wanted.

Looks like the strip stuff you use for an algae reactor, rather than a sump.

Hi folks. New member had had a marine tank for a year now. Can any of you advise if this can be hooked up to an external filter I do not have a sump and battling high nitrates 25ppm so would like these lower.

What sort of flow rate do we have going through these or does it matter?

Thanks
