I'm after a 40mm gate valve for my main drain.  They're pretty pricey.  Anyone got any cheap places they use?

I've had a good look around and that seems to be about standard everywhere for a 40mm gate. 32mm are considerably cheaper.

I wish I used a gate valve on mine though, the massive 50mm ball valve was job and half setting right. Used to find myself putting tension on the handle, then gently tapping it to knock it in fine increments. I think a gate would be a good investment providing it's the screw type (most seem to be) not the slide type.

It may be easier and cheaper installing a small relief on the return pipe , I take up the smaller adjustments on the smaller valve through my UV .

A small diameter relief for fine adjustments would work too, but gate valves are just cool.

They're not big on metric over there. Had a look, but can't see the size I'm after.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Going to order from the link I posted.
