My new pair of snowflakes are squabbling. They have only just went in. They were a paired in the LFS but once I put in tank the started squabbling. Is this just a territorial thing until they find there own space??

Penny for your thoughts.

Sounds like they are trying to determine dominance. When you say paired are you talking about that they have been sexed?  It should settle once they have established their rank, but just keep an eye that one is not becoming more stressed and damaged than the other.

Yes, they are male and female. They were the only pair in LFS, the LFS tank is a lot smaller than mine but they appeared to be pretty settled with each other then when I got them home and acclimatising they were having a go in the bag!! Will keep an eye on them. They are the only things in the tank bar the clean up so they have it all to themselves so hopefully that should give them a chance to determine dominance and space.

Thanks:

Interested to know where their territory is? Do you have an anemone or have they found something else to base themselves around?

No anemone in tank but there is a large toadstool that when fully expanded has long tentacles and they are paying some interest to it. Think they are trying to work out if it is safe to host. They seem to have settled after dark. See pic

I agree ,
New tank ,new boss syndrome , they should be fine in a couple of days , bet it's the female that starts it off ( lol lol) ooooh I'll get some stick now for saying that but as a rule it usually is the female that becomes the aggressive one to start with ,
They should be ok when the food starts coming in ,maybe just drop a little extra in to help for a few days ,
