Hi guys, just discussing stocking our new 4x2x2 tank with the Mrs and we are contemplating Ocellaris Clownfish and Black and White Ocellaris Clownfish, maybe one of each or a pair of each depending on recommendations, just looking for advice really on if his is just a really bad idea or somehing that's OK to do  :geek:

Cheers

:'( Im sorry mate clowns are highly territorial and need lots of space to co-habit with other clown fish. More than 1 pair in a 4x2x2 is likely to be all out war and you will have blood on your hands so to speak......But one pair would be no problem. Don't forget clownfish are damselfish and can be aggressive with other clownfish and their owners hands  my still feed from my fingers at the mo  ;)

If a pair is ok could the pair be one Ocellaris Clownfish and a Black and White Ocellaris Clownfish or would they have to be 2 same species?  :damn:

As long as they are a pair when you buy them, male and female, as they are hermaphrodite, the dominant fish turns to female, If you buy one of each the chances they will pair are slim, they might hate each other or you might be lucky, best to buy a pair male and female. Lots of different colours out there. I wanted more but the helpful chaps on here put me right and ive heeded their advice.
