Just a quick heads up for anyone struggling to control nitrate in their tank, vinegar dosing is the business!
Due to some snails dying and lying undiscovered my nitrate level was well over 50, up from its normal level of 5-15. This resulted in poo-brown corals and a massive nuisance algae bloom.
I started following this guide
and the results have been pretty decent. Not only did it get the nitrate down to its original level, but also took it to <1 which I have never seen in this tank. Corals are starting to show some colour again
I'll probably drop the dose a bit more now the nitrate level is close to 0.
