Hi,

I've just tested my water, pH appears to be about 8.4
Is this good, it's a bit hard to actually confirm what the colour is in relation to the chart.

I'm using the API Marine Saltwater test kit

Thanks,
James

Does anyone use
JBL pH-Plus 250 ml, Water conditioner to increase the pH value in fresh and saltwater aquariums in my marine aquarium?

I'm wondering how long the pH will take to rise once added?
How often can it be added to increase the pH?
Will adding too much or too often increase the pH too high for fish?

Why are you measuring ph?
It will be interesting to see how it raises and falls over a day but its not really monitored often if at all in marine aquariums

As the test kit I have purchased has the pH test kit so I assumed that pH was an important measurement in the aquarium?

the Ph will vary depending on the time of day that you test, as long as it is within the acceptable range (7.6 to 8.4) for most of the day it will be fine. If you want to monitor it thats fine but you would need to do so at the exact time of day as the other tests. This is useful if you wanted calcium media reactors and other things in your tank for dosing etc.

Its the API test kit right? PH is in it as it is essentially the same as the Freshwater Kit with a different colour card and slightly different reagents for the tests.
