It you want a RS250 I would definitely recommend having a look at 2nd hand (eg. the bay) There are loads of great deals to be had and they are often nearly new as people get the bug and want to upgrade really sharpish. I got my latest tank (a RS250) which was 6 months old, mint condition plus skimmer and nero wavemakers for under a grand

For what its worth I had a 4x2x2 enclosed system within about 18 inches of an old fashioned Parkray ,which of course was only lit in winter same as a radiator . I had no issues that I can remember with heat. I also had a bigger tank in a SW facing conservatory which often got very hot , no probs there either. But obviously no direct sunlight on it . My conservatory is like a jungle room ,so its shaded but hot.

Although yellow tangs are getting very hard to get hold of, so may not want to completely base it around one.
