I have a 130 litre tank with an 80 litre sump when the sump is running it's about 2 thirds full. When I turn off return pump the level in the sump goes up by about an inch and a half.when everything is running my drain bulkhead isn't covered completely I would say about half way.Should I add more water to the tank so when it's running the drain bulkhead is completely under water.I hope you understand.

No matter how much water you add to the DT it will be the sump level that goes up and not the DT

Hello marti yes just worked it out.when I turn up the return pump the water level in tank rises over the bulkhead. I guess I'm just a bit worried that my drain pipe won't take the speed of the return.
