Hi, is it safe to use a new pond pump to transfer water to my mixing container, and then into the main tank, or would I specifically need to buy a pump for a saltwater tank ? ( I wouldn't leave the pump sitting in the water, only use it to pump as needed )  thank you.

Best to use one that says its safe in salt water. It could be a simple difference between one pump using a steel shaft, and another using a ceramic shaft.

Thanks:
