Soft Coral Lighting

Hi

I want to start adding some soft corals to my aquarium but i only have a cheap LED light at the moment and i dont know what lights i should get. Any advice would be great

Tank dimensions 100cm x42cm x 40cm

That's a shallow tank. So you're not going to need  the most powerful lights. I'd look for anything full spectrum,  with the ability to program at least two channels, so you can alter how blue you like it, and have a ramp up and down. Other than that, softies will be fairly happy. Do you think it's worth considering hard corals for the future too?

Right, any examples of lighta you can give me? Theres loads of different ones ranging from £70-£400 will all different wattage.
I doubt it, i like the movement of soft corals so ill probably stick with them

MarsAqua is another brand worth looking at. Not the most expensive out there, but decent.

ViparSpectra is another one which makes similar lights, except they are slightly more expensive but have a built in timer and (apparently) slightly better spectrum.

This is the long version, which would cover your tank with a dip in brightness at the sides
