I bought my Fox Face about a week ago - he was swimming round with my blue regal tang and dwarf cherub angel quite happily - then yesterday I noticed him staying in his cave where he sleeps - he didn't particularly swim around at feeding time like normal but did eat, he is still in there this morning whereas normally he would be swimming with the others pecking at the rocks - he also has his spines up.  Has someone / something spooked him or is he just settled and protecting his cave?  Feeling like an over anxious mother!!

Is it still hiding and not feeding?
I've never had one but @Marty has I think.

yer I know they can be shy fish but just worried as he was happy and active for a week and has now changed personality - will try getting him some different algae food today / nori and see if a change brings him out.

That's what I want to get mine on so I can go on hol and make it easier for someone to feed - did you just gradually mix the two, reducing the frozen?

Have you checked water parameters?

Mine hid on occasion.  They're skittish things.

Yes all Params fine - and all else ok. Could an anemone have stung him maybe?

Sadly my fox face has died :(. My first loss in 6 months but I don't know why - couldn't see any marks on him and all rest of fish seem fine (although I will keep an extra close eye on them).

Thanks - feel so sad that I let it down but just don't know why.  Loved the fish and would like to get another but scared now it will happen again.
