Can I leave as many shells as I want in there all the time?

Yeah i usually have a selection in my tanks, they're also useful places for attaching certain corals that are otherwise hard to attach to plugs (mushrooms.kenya tree, leathers etc)

I have spotted my larger/female clownfish dancing for the smaller one! Reminds me of my cichlids that shimmy at each other. Is this a good sign? Better than fighting I guess? :)

this is a bad picture but... did my hermit die? I noticed the empty shell right at the top of the rock work and then found him out like this at the back, with stringy stuff hanging off him, I guess where he’s been picked at.  Do you think he tried to moult but got pulled out of the shell? I think one moulted a few days ago as I saw some leg pieces of exoskeleton on the sand.

That's a shame, are you 100% sure the shell is empty though?

I think so ... I don’t think it’s just a moult since I thought the stringy stuff that was coming off it was flesh. Do you think he got stuck and had to come out? I have two more and don’t want them to go either :/

I’ve seen one of my hermit being kicked out of a shell before and spend a day or so shell less... unless you have a wrasse I would think it could be a moult?

Yeahhh I have a wrasse who loves to try his luck. I actually can’t find the empty shell now. So, unless it’s really a moult and he’s buried himself until he toughens up (I think the more terrestrial species do this?), then I think he may have been Friday night bites for the rest of the team.

yeah with molts if you're not sure give it the sniff test. If its  slightly salty then its usually a molt, if it smells like low tide and rotting seaweed its a carcass
