Hi I don’t have the room for an RO system at home, all my local LFS may be closing soon. So I was going to head out into the sea at one of my local Suffolk coasts to collect it. I usually replace 100 litres every fortnight. Does anyone have experience on the best way to filter your own NSW?

From what I read in the past, it isn't filtered before adding to tank,
if you get desperate I always have around 200lts of rodi water.

Thanks:

Just out if interest how long can you store the rodi once it’s been completed?

I spoke to a guy who collected water from one of the cleaner beaches of Essex.  He said he used a fine micron filter (can't remember the exact number) and carbon.

Probably an HMA filter (like you use with discus etc) would work.

Thanks:

I fill my 200lt barrel and it last around 6-8weeks, just as long as it is in a airtight container and in the dark it  it should last ages.

Thanks:

Why do you keep it airtight?  Just to keep bugs out or is there more to it?
