Hello All, New tank still cycling with new skimmer all been running 2 weeks. I have micro bubble problems. I wonder if someone would be so kind to help me please. Currently, water goes into filter sock, over a baffle into a skimmer compartment and then under a baffle into another section. This then goes over a baffle to return pump. I originally had skimmer in return pump section but micro bubbles were terrible so i moved skimmer last week to the section after sock. That has reduced the bubbles by half but still have way too many. I then have put sponge that i am getting ready for my QT tank (as an experiment today) under the baffle from skimmer to section 3 but would this be better with filter floss between egg crate that is raising the skimmer?
Do these settle as skimmer breaks in or tank matures. Hering these bubbles are not good with fish that have mucas like clowns and of course makes tank cloudy?

Can you post some photos of the skimmer and sump baffles please?  That'll help us diagnose what's up.  It could be a number of issues.

I've turned them around for you.  It's to do with the way you hold your phone when taking pics, and the way the photo uploaded interprets that info.  Try turning your phone the opposite way up when taking the pic, and it should work.

Thanks:

It could be the skimmer needs more time to bed in.  Could also be that it s too deep and creating too many bubbles.  Have you tried adjusting the air intake, so it sucks in less air?

Thanks:

Hi, Karen.

There was a problem with the image you uploaded. I'm not sure what happened, maybe you can try again, I've had to remove it.

Thanks.

HI, Thats Ok I sorted it! Raised skimmer and put some filter floss under it so that is trapping most of the bubbles nicely. Just need to change it weekly i reckon.
